ST. PAUL, Minn. – Today, Governor Tim Walz announced his two-year proposal for the Minnesota state budget. The plan contains robust investments in education, health care, infrastructure, and more to tackle some of our state’s greatest challenges.
State Rep. Dave Lislegard (DFL – Aurora) issued the following statement:
“I share Governor Walz’s vision for ‘One Minnesota,’ and the people I represent want many of the same things people in other parts of the state want for themselves and their families. These include key values like great schools, affordable health care, and the chance for every person, no matter where they may live, to have a true opportunity for success. It’s clear the Governor has approached the budget by thoughtfully looking ahead to our future, focusing on what has made Minnesota such a terrific place to live, work and raise a family in the first place. As a former mayor, I’m particularly pleased with his ideas to strengthen communities through increased investments in infrastructure, and tools like Local Government Aid.
“This budget is a starting point and as we dive into the details, I may not agree with every single aspect of the proposal. Today though, I thank the Governor for putting together a robust, responsible budget that reflects our key values to keep our state – the whole state – strong and prosperous.”
