SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Minnesota Management and Budget released a new budget forecast showing a projected balance of $7.7 billion for the current two-year budget cycle.
Rep. Dave Lislegard (DFL – Aurora) issued the following statement:
“The budget forecast represents an incredible opportunity to invest in the future success of our whole state. Many folks have had to navigate unprecedented hardship over the past two years, including workers, small businesses, and students. While we’re still looking to close the book on this pandemic, it’s time to look forward to how we can keep our economy growing and help middle-class families experience long-term prosperity.
“This legislative session, I’m hopeful we can come together to advance bread-and-butter priorities like aid for small businesses, assistance for workers on the front lines of COVID, a robust capital investment bill with important infrastructure projects on the Iron Range and across the state, additional resources for schools, and other tools to help our region and state thrive into the future.”
