News re: completion of I-94/Hwy. 23 interchange project

Saturday, May 16, 2020

Dear Neighbor,

I want to pass along some good local news as the House works through the weekend to take care of business before we are scheduled to adjourn at midnight Monday.

The new access ramps at the I-94/Highway 23 interchange in Waite Park are now open as a long-awaited project is complete. Traffic control devices were scheduled to be removed yesterday, with two new access loops opening to traffic.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation indicates that, this spring, crews completed concrete work, installed signs and lighting at the I-94/Highway 23 interchange. Those accessing the interchange in south Waite Park will use the new loops to access eastbound and westbound Highway 23 from Interstate 94. To see new ramp configuration, visit this link

The two-year, $2 million project improves traffic flow, safety and access at the busy interchange. To learn more about this project or view a layout of the interchange improvements, visit this website.

Look for more legislative news soon. For now, I wanted to make sure to pass along this note as a heads-up for local travelers. It’s great to see this project come together!

Sincerely,

Lisa
