Dear Neighbor,
Hope your summer is off to a good start, even if the calendar doesn’t say it’s summer quite yet and the weather itself has been slow to warm up this year. Here are a couple of quick notes I’d like to share:
Frontline worker bonuses
The application window for frontline worker pay bonuses opened today. I urge eligible local residents to file, and you have 45 days to complete your submission before it closes at the end of the day July 22. It is not a first-come, first-served process so anyone who is eligible should receive their bonus without concern over the application order.
Workers in numerous job sectors are eligible for frontline bonuses, and you can find more about whether you qualify and how to apply at this link. Thank you to all those who worked throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to keep us going and this bonus is well-deserved.
Take a Kid Fishing Weekend
Take a Kid Fishing Weekend is June 10-12 and Minnesotans can fish without licenses if they are with children 15 or younger. I hope you are able to take this opportunity to share this activity with the children in your life, help nurture an appreciation for the outdoors and develop a fun connection with them. Kids 15 and under don’t need fishing licenses any time of year and this event is a way for adults and kids to fish without the step of buying a license. Here is a link with information about how people 15 and up can buy a fishing license – online or at local retailers – so you can keep fishing throughout the season.
Until next time, hope to see you around the district and, as always, let me know how I can help.
Sincerely,
Lisa
