House Capital Investment Committee Proposes Several Bonding Projects for St. Cloud
St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota House Capital Investment Division released their proposed bonding bill, which includes several projects that benefit St. Cloud and the surrounding communities. Rep. Dan Wolgamott (DFL – St. Cloud), who serves on the Capital Investment Committee, authored multiple pieces of legislation that’ve been included in the proposal.
“I’m proud of the work I’ve done to successfully advocate for projects that will make St. Cloud and Central Minnesota safer and more economically competitive” said Rep. Wolgamott. “Complimenting the House’s proposed transportation budget, I’m thrilled that Capital Investment’s bonding bill provides additional funds to begin the process of extending Northstar to St. Cloud. Other significant investments in projects I’ve been championing include improvements to the St. Cloud ?Municipal Athletic Complex, a fire suppression wall and fence for the St. Cloud Correctional Facility, safety improvements for St. Cloud State and St. Cloud Technical Community College, and funding for a data center in Becker, an attractive project that could even bring Google to our area.”
The Capital Investment Committee started its first walkthrough of the bonding bill today, with consideration of amendments and a final vote taking place in committee this Thursday. A detailed spreadsheet of the projects in the bill can be found here.
