St. Cloud, MN – Rep. Dan Wolgamott (DFL – St. Cloud) will be visiting the St. Cloud Correctional Facility on Tuesday, August 20. Rep. Wolgamott, who serves as the Vice Chair of the House Corrections Division, will be joined by Rep. Jack Considine (DFL – Mankato), the Chair of the House Corrections Division. The visit will consist of a tour of the facility, as well as a meeting with Warden Miles and correctional officers.
“As Vice Chair of the House Corrections Division, I’m committed to making the St. Cloud Correctional Facility and our surrounding community safer,” said Rep. Wolgamott. “In the 2019 legislative session, I led efforts to invest in additional correctional officers and reestablish the Ombudsperson for Corrections to better ensure that these facilities are properly staffed and supported. This visit is part of my efforts in the Corrections Division to meet with the Minnesotans that manage these facilities and strive towards solutions that help them do their jobs and come home safe after a day’s work.”
The Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud serves as the intake facility for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The House Corrections Division had previously held a historic committee hearing within the Stillwater Correctional Facility this legislative session in February.
