St. Paul, MN – Today, the Minnesota House moved swiftly to unanimously pass legislation that would invest $20.9 million in reinforcing the state’s response to COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. The bill, SF 3813, is expected to be signed into law by Governor Walz this evening. State Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL – St. Cloud) voted in favor of the bill.
“The current situation with COVID-19 is one that I take extremely seriously, and I’m grateful my colleagues were able to come together and treat this issue with the urgency it deserves,” said Rep. Wolgamott. “I’ll continue to update my constituents as I hear more from the Department of Health, and I urge everyone to follow the advice of health officials when it comes to ensuring you and yours stay healthy.”
With two confirmed cases of the virus in Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Health has set up a hotline to answer questions relating to COVID-19, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The hotline number is 651-201-3920. Minnesotans are also encouraged to visit www.health.state.mn.us for up-to-date and accurate information.
