Dear Granite City Neighbors, Quick reminder that tomorrow I’ll be holding our Defending Democracy Town Hall with Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, and I hope you’ll be able to join us as we discuss ways to protect the right to vote in Minnesota. We’ll be at Lions Park at 4310 Dublin Drive, starting at 6:30pm. |
Just last week, we saw the latest efforts to overturn the presidential election in Arizona fail - one of many attempts to attack the integrity of our elections and justify oppressive anti-democratic legislation. Since the 2020 election, more than a dozen states have enacted laws to create unnecessary barriers to the right to vote. As of today, over 400 voter suppression bills have been introduced in 49 states, including Minnesota. If we do nothing, free and fair elections are at stake. Minnesotans regularly lead the nation in voter turnout because we hold the right to vote in high regard, but Republican leaders in our state continue to attack this value. I hope to see you tomorrow to lend your voice to our efforts to defend democracy. Regardless of whether you’re able to attend, I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have on how to make St. Cloud and Minnesota better. You can reach me at rep.dan.wolgamott@house.mn, or give me a call at (651) 296-6612. I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely,
Rep. Dan Wolgamott |
