St. Paul, MN - Today, Minnesota Management and Budget announced a new economic forecast showing a $9.25 billion budget surplus for the current biennium. The analysis does not incorporate inflationary costs or the various impacts of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
State Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL - St. Cloud) released the following statement:
“This historic budget forecast emphasizes that Minnesota’s current economic growth is built on the backs of working families, but not everyone is feeling the benefits of this budget forecast. All Minnesotans deserve the economic freedom to thrive in our state, feel safe in their communities, and be able to live their lives without breaking the bank. Using today’s numbers as guidance, I’m doubling down on my efforts to support working families, fund public safety, and help Minnesotans keep up with the rising costs of inflation.”
