St. Paul, MN - Yesterday, the House DFL and GOP Caucuses announced their co-chair appointments for the upcoming 2025-2026 Legislative Biennium. State Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL - St. Cloud), was appointed co-chair of the House Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. Rep. Wolgamott currently serves as vice chair of the committee.
Rep. Wolgamott released the following statement:
“I’m honored to announce that I have been appointed as the DFL Co-Chair of the House Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. I have already been in contact with my GOP Co-Chair, Rep. Marion Rarick, and I look forward to working with her to run an efficient, bipartisan committee.
“I will use this leadership position to be a champion for those who teach and learn at St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, and every campus throughout our state. There is a direct connection between the vitality of campuses and the vitality of communities.
“Minnesota is facing a workforce crisis. Now is the time to break down barriers and build up opportunities in higher education so students can obtain the knowledge, skills, and training they need to succeed in the 21st century economy.”
Alongside Rep. Wolgamott, State Representative Marion Rarick (R - Maple Lake) will also serve as co-chair of the committee. A full list of House committee co-chairs for the upcoming biennium can be found here.
Rep. Wolgamott will be serving his 4th consecutive term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. The 2025 Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 14.
