ST. PAUL – State Rep. Shane Mekeland, R-Clear Lake, announces the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority recently approved a Clear Lake financial package to help construct a new well and well house.
The financing involves a $1.4 million Drinking Water Revolving Fund loan at 1-percent interest. The PFA indicates the favorable terms will save local taxpayers more than $111,000 compared with market-rate financing.
“It is very important to maintain our core infrastructure and clean drinking water is a major component in the system,” Mekeland said. “Congratulations to the people of Clear Lake for earning this award from the state. There always seems to be strong competition for limited PFA dollars and our local group can be proud of the application it submitted.”
