Dear Neighbors,
Here we are at the start of the 2020 Legislative Session! This is a shorter session than last year, without any constitutionally mandated budgeting, so much of the work will be focused on crafting a bonding bill for infrastructure and community projects across the state, tweaking some of the budget from the previous year, and meeting policy needs.
I’m grateful for the lessons learned from last year, and I look forward to hitting the ground running, which we’ll have to with only 14 weeks left. I want to thank everyone that either stopped by a Town Hall or attended a community event during the recess to discuss how we can better legislate for our community and state. Though I’ll be splitting my time between St. Paul and St. Peter in the coming months, I hope you’ll still reach out to me with your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Something I’m excited to announce is my upcoming podcast! In an effort to keep you up-to-date on our work at the legislature, its impact in our community, and answer any questions you might have on the government process, I will be periodically releasing “Stuff You Should Know – with Rep. Jeff Brand” on iTunes and anywhere you may get your podcasts.
