Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We finally have some warmth! Despite the bitter cold this week, we kept up the people's work at the Capitol every day. I hope you all stayed warm this week and the break from work and school. We enjoyed having many Legislators' and the general public's children with us at the Capitol this week - so fun to have them in hearings and on the floor! I hope you can enjoy the warm-up and have a great weekend!
First Bill Introduced
This week my first bill was introduced! The bill is a request from the city of Rogers to build a pedestrian bridge over Interstate 94 near Highway 101. The bridge will help to keep pedestrians and bikers safe and will better connect the two parts of the city that are split by I-94. This project has been "in the pipeline" for several years and I am pleased to be able to continue to work on pushing it forward.
Standing for Life
I joined my fellow House and Senate Republicans at a joint press conference this week to express our opposition to a bill New York recently passed allowing abortion up to the moment of birth with virtually no restrictions. Virginia is now considering a similar proposal. I believe that most Minnesotans, regardless of their "prolife" or "prochoice" views, do not support abortion up to the baby's due date. As a strong defender of life, I will work with my colleagues to ensure these barbaric practices are not brought to Minnesota.
First Town Hall Meetings Last Weekend
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold and came out to my first Town Hall meetings in Dayton, Rogers, and Maple Grove last Saturday! It was so fun to see old friends and make new friends and I learned so much through our wide-ranging discussion of issues that matter to you. I look forward to future Town Hall meetings and invite you to contact me by email or come and see me in St. Paul if you have other issues you'd like to discuss. Thanks to everyone for your time and willingness to engage!

Things I Didn't Know!
Every week I sit through multiple committee meetings and learn so much about state government I didn't know. I want to pass this information on to all of you so you can take advantage of the resources your hard-earned taxpayer money is funding! This week's "find" is "free money" or Unclaimed Property.
The State of Minnesota has an Unclaimed Property Division. It is where banks, former employers, and more have sent unclaimed money from former employees and customers. There are HUNDREDS of millions of dollars in this account. Simply go to www.missingmoney.com/ - enter your name and see if you have anything. Better yet, share this link with friends and family. It is YOUR money and it belongs to YOU.
I hope many of you find unexpected money or property when you check it out!
Constituent Meetings
I love meeting with constituents! It is a privilege to get to know people and hear their views on the issues being debated at the Capitol and what is going on in our communities. Here are a few pictures from recent constituent meetings. If you are in St. Paul, please schedule a meeting and drop by 225 State Office Building!!!
