Friends and Neighbors,
It's been an eventful last week as we lead up to Independence Day on July 4th. It's been fantastic to see so many of you at various events throughout our wonderful community. We are definitely making the most of summer in 34A!
Have a wonderful time celebrating the 4th of July with your family and friends. I hope to see many of you at the Maple Grove Days Parade on Thursday, July 11th!
Town Hall Meetings in Maple Grove & Rogers
We had great Town Hall meetings and discussions in both Maple Grove and Rogers on Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who came out to share their ideas and concerns. I am truly grateful for the respectful dialogue, even when we disagree on a particular issue.
Thank you to everyone who came to share their thoughts with Sen. Warren Limmer and me! I look forward to spending the next several months working on some of the issues that we discussed.
Red Blue Habitat for Humanity Build
Last Friday, I joined many of my fellow legislators at the "Red Blue Build" with Habitat for Humanity - Twin Cities! Republican and Democrat legislators worked together to build a house! Can’t wait until next year! It was a rewarding day working with my colleagues and helping serve a family who will now have stability and the opportunity to build wealth through homeownership.
Rockin' Rogers Days
I had a great time at the Dunk Tank and the Parade for Rockin' Rogers last weekend! I hope you had a chance to take in the festivities. I’m already looking forward to next year!
Angel Tax Credit Applications
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) will begin accepting applications from businesses, investors, and funds to participate in the Minnesota Angel Tax Credit program on Monday, July 1st.
The Minnesota Legislature authorized $10 million in tax credits for 2019, with another $10 million in 2021. Half of the funding each year is reserved for minority, women, and veteran-owned and managed businesses, as well as businesses located in Greater Minnesota.
Since its inception in 2010, the Angel Tax Credit has provided $418 million in investment to 430 start-up businesses. The program ended in December 2017 due to its sunset provision before being reinstated earlier this year.
The minimum qualifying investment is $10,000 for non-targeted businesses. The minimum qualifying investment for women/minority/veteran and Greater Minnesota businesses is $7,500.
DEED will be holding a Facebook Live Event to give more information today at 3:00 PM.
