SAINT PAUL, MN – A bill by Rep. Kristin Robbins (R-Maple Grove) to prohibit fees to view or download online court documents has been included in both the House and Senate Judiciary omnibus bills. This bill would stop an $8 viewing or downloading fee for the Minnesota Courts system from taking effect later this year.
“I am pleased that this bill to prohibit online document fees has been included in the House and Senate Judiciary omnibus bills,” said Robbins. “Minnesotans have a right to access documents that pertain to their personal cases, as well as a right to transparency in their government. Removing these court document fees will preserve the ability to access official records and transparency in our state.”
