SAINT PAUL, MN – Rep. Kristin Robbins (R-Maple Grove) attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Highway 610 Completion Project on Tuesday. The project is the culmination of decades of planning and construction that connects communities along I-94.
“I am so pleased to finally seek ground break on this critical project for our community,” said Robbins. “I have been working with local partners since I took office to secure funding to finish the Highway 610 Extension Project. This project will support thousands of workers and job creators in the Highway 610 corridor and will promote economic development for our region.”
The 610 Extension Project will improve regional and local connections to I-94, TH 610, and County Road 30. The project includes a 4-lane roadway connection between County Road 30 and I-94, a connection across I-94 to TH 610, and ramps to I-94 eastbound and from I-94 westbound to the 610 extension.
The project is funded through federal transportation funds (Metropolitan Council Regional Solicitation and U.S. House of Representatives Community Project Funding), state funds (Legislative grant through the Local Road Improvement Program and Transportation Economic Development Program), MnDOT, Hennepin County, and the City of Maple Grove.
