SAINT PAUL, Minn. – State Representative Kristin Bahner (DFL-Maple Grove) has been re-appointed by Speaker Melissa Hortman to Governor Walz’s Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology through February 28, 2021. Rep. Bahner has been an IT consultant in the private sector for over 20 years.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue my service on the Blue Ribbon IT Council,” said Representative Bahner. “It is always about how we put people first in government, make them the center of the solution. Minnesotans need and deserve a reliable, prompt, and secure state government IT system. Whether it’s to file for a property tax refund, update business information, or register for a fishing license, efficiency and equity of these services must be at the forefront of our work. I look forward to finding additional solutions that save taxpayer dollars and serve real families in this process.”
The Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology offers advice on how to update and maintain the state's IT systems to ensure that Minnesota residents and businesses who interact with the state receive the best possible service. Both the House DFL and GOP members of the council also collaborate on the most efficient use of taxpayer dollars invested in IT projects, while keeping government data secure and protecting the state against cybersecurity threats.
