SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Yesterday, Representative Ginny Klevorn (DFL-Plymouth) was appointed as the DFL co-chair of the House State Government Finance & Policy Committee.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the good work of improving Minnesota’s state government operations to create more efficiencies for everyone,” said Rep. Klevorn. “In 2018, I was elected to serve in the nation’s only divided state House and Senate, which yielded significant results for Plymouth. A tied house will require the same bipartisan values I’ve carried with me to the State Capitol since day one to get the job done: collaboration, respect, and compromise.”
Representative Klevorn served as the chair of the House State & Local Government Finance & Policy Committee during the 2023-2024 biennium. As chair, she helped reverse the decades-long trend of underinvestment in and helped expand access to state government with robust investments in translation services for non-English speaking Minnesotans, overdue technology and cybersecurity upgrades, and protections for the state’s emergency radio broadcast system.
Alongside Rep. Klevorn, State Representative Jim Nash (R - Waconia) will also serve as co-chair of the committee. A full list of House committee co-chairs for the upcoming biennium can be found here.
Rep. Klevorn will be serving her 4th consecutive term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. The 2025 Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 14.
