Dear neighbors,
After several months of hard work, lawmakers have agreed on a framework for the budget! Our agreement includes $4 billion to improve the lives of Minnesotans and makes significant investments in education, health care, and public safety. It also contains $4 billion to provide tax cuts and reduce costs. That leaves about $4 billion on the bottom line to help our state manage any economic uncertainty that may arise in the future.
This agreement is a step in the right direction, but we have more work to do. Over the next few days, legislators will work out the details of our budget. We’re working around the clock to find compromises and develop bipartisan bills.
I’m excited to share the results of this work with you! Rep. Kelly Morrison and I are holding a town hall at the Minnetonka Community Center on Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. We’ll talk about what we accomplished during the 2022 legislative session and what we hope to achieve in the future. If you join us, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and share your own ideas.
It’s the last week of the legislative session, so there will be plenty of action at the Capitol. If you’d like to stay updated, please follow my Facebook page. Feel free to share this email with family, friends, and neighbors who may be interested as well.
If you have any questions or feedback you’d like to share, you can reach me by email at rep.patty.acomb@house.mn or call (651) 296-9934.
