Dear Neighbors,
Another busy week of session has passed! First, I’d like to thank everyone who turned out for our town hall last week. It was great to see so many familiar faces and discuss legislative priorities for 2024!
Here is an update from the Capitol:
MPCA Small Business Environmental Loan Program
If your small business is looking to reduce on-site air emissions, clean up contamination, or generate less waste be sure to apply for the MPCA Small Business Environmental Loan program. The program offers zero-interest loans up to $75,000 to tackle these high-impact projects. You can learn more and apply here.
Rotary License Plate Hearing
I want to give a big shout out to the Rotarians who testified this week for the creation of a Rotary license plate. I’m happy to support this effort and will continue to shepherd this bill through the process!
Tax Reforms to Benefit Minnesotans
I support a tax system that will benefit families, seniors, and working class Minnesotans. Last year, I voted for a tax bill that has now made Minnesota the most fairly taxed state in the nation. This means rather than providing giveaways to wealthiest among us and large corporations, Democrats are ensuring the Minnesotans who count on it most will have more money in their pockets and have the economic stability they need to thrive. For instance our child tax credit will benefit working families by providing up to $1,750 for each dependent, or how we exempted social security income from being taxed for the vast majority of seniors.
