Dear Neighbors,
With the election behind us, my regular legislative updates can start up once more. We are still waiting to see the exact form the legislature takes, but as soon as I have solid information, I’ll share it with you. In the meantime, here is a quick update on Veterans Day!
I had the honor of emceeing the annual Veterans appreciation day luncheon at the MN Masonic Home’s Heritage Center on Friday.
The event was made possible by the support of the city’s Community Outreach and Engagement Division, American Legion Post #550, and dedicated volunteers. The ceremony began with the Posting of the Flag by the Bloomington Police Honor Guard, followed by the National Anthem, performed by the Nativity of Mary Sunday Choir.
Commander Travis D. Brinkman, a Bloomington native with nearly two decades of Navy service, delivered the keynote address, sharing his story of dedication and gratitude for the veterans who paved the way, including his father, Duane Brinkman, a Vietnam Veteran.
It was an honor to be a part of the Veterans Appreciation Celebration. It was a great example of our community’s gratitude for our veterans’ service and sacrifice, and a strong reminder of the enduring impact of military service.
