Your Friday Update from the Office of Representative Brad Tabke:
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources indicates that we’re right on the border for experiencing peak fall colors, so be sure to take advantage of the weather this weekend! Here’s an update on some exciting events coming up for Shakopee residents, as well as some important updates on our work at the State Capitol.
We’ve seen the youth in our community lead on issues time and again. Whether it’s advocating for gun safety, more inclusive schools, or a climate-conscious future, our students are standing up for policies that impact them and their communities. As part of our office’s efforts to make the legislative work done on behalf of our district as inclusive and responsive as possible, we are forming a Youth Advisory Council.
The council is open to ages 18 and under who live in Minnesota House District 55A, with parents and guardians welcomed to attend, as we work to include their perspective in the crafting and advocacy of forward-looking policies for Minnesota.
What: First Meeting for the District 55A Youth Advisory Council
Who: Rep Tabke, residents ages 18 and under
When: Monday, October 28, 7-8:30pm (continuing every other month)
Where: Shakopee Public Library, 235 Lewis St S, Shakopee, MN 55379
Those who are interested in joining the Youth Advisory Council can contact our office at rep.brad.tabke@house.mn or (651) 296-8872. Meetings of the District 55A Youth Advisory Council will take place every other month and via email as issues arise.
