St. Paul, MN - Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives became constitutionally organized thanks to a bipartisan power-sharing agreement reached by the DFL and GOP caucuses.
A key component of the agreement House Democrats fought for is the recognition of Rep. Brad Tabke (DFL - Shakopee) as the winner of the House District 54A election, and allowing him to be seated in the Minnesota House.
“I’m incredibly thankful for Speaker Emeritus Hortman and my DFL colleagues that fought so hard to have the will of Shakopee’s 22,000 voters recognized,” said Rep. Tabke. “It shouldn’t have taken this long, but today is a good day. Now is the time for us to come together for the hard-working folks of Shakopee, Minnesota, and everyone who cares about democracy. We can’t accomplish anything this session without working together, and I am committed to that work.”
