Hello Friends!
Just wanted to share a quick update that I will not be able to make it to our regularly-scheduled Shakopee Office Hours tomorrow. We’ve reached the point in the legislative session where schedules are ever-changing, and it looks like I’ll be spending tomorrow morning finalizing our Transportation budget proposal in the Minnesota House. Once our budget proposals are finalized in the House (my committee work focuses on the Transportation, Energy, and Public Safety budgets) we then start the process of crafting our final budget with the Minnesota Senate and Governor Walz.
The nature of the Minnesota House these days is that our initial proposals are already very bipartisan - or they wouldn’t pass in the first place - and the slim DFL majority in the Senate means we all need to work together to ensure we pass a budget that supports all Minnesotans.
We have a brief break from that work next week, as no official legislative action will take place in recognition of the Easter and Passover holidays, but that does make it a great time for you to reach out with any questions you might have as we enter the final weeks of session!
