Dear Neighbors,

Last week, the House lawfully organized got underway last Thursday after my GOP colleagues accepted the offer that's been on the table since January. At the end of the day, House Republicans will have their leader, Lisa Demuth, serve as Speaker of the House for the biennium, but most importantly, Rep. Brad Tabke from Shakopee will get to serve his term in office, and Democrats and Republicans will share power if the House returns to a 67-67 tie in a month.

Now that the House has officially convened, committees have started work. I will be serving on the House Health Finance, Taxes, and Commerce Finance and Policy Committees. To date, I’ve introduced 14 bills. I’m excited to partner with Rep. Robert Bierman to author legislation that would invest in a modest expansion of the Minnesota Zoo’s Large Animal Operating Room.

I’m also carrying a handful of bills that help improve Emergency Medical Services for Minnesotans.

Additionally, I’ve introduced infrastructure legislation to preserve state historic sites and museums and another bill that would bring a driver training facility at Dakota County Technical College.

I will continue working alongside Minnesotans to build a future where everyone in Rosemount, Apple Valley, and Eagan can get ahead. I’ve been working hard in our district over the past few weeks, and I’m excited to bring that work back to the State Capitol. Here is a look at some of those in district meetings:

I recently met with the new office of Emergency Medical Services. I have been appointed by the House to the new advisory board. My commitment is to keep trying to improve our EMS throughout the state.

I enjoyed sharing priorities and legislative issues with our Dakota County, city leaders, school officials, and township representatives. We’re committed to working together to meet the needs of our residents.

House Higher Education DFL Lead, State Rep. Dan Wolgamott joined me to speak with ISD #196 teachers about how we can work together to create more post-secondary pathways for high school students.

I also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Fairview system to discuss their new mental health facility being constructed at the former Bethesda site in Saint Paul. This initiative marks a significant step forward in addressing mental health care needs in Minnesota, as it introduces an innovative approach providing a safe environment where individuals in distress can receive the care they need, without delay.

Find Your Missing Money & Unclaimed Property

With looming federal tarriffs to take effect next month, which will inevitably impact prices on essential goods, I'd like to remind you about Minnesota's Unclaimed Property Program.

Quite often, folks lose out on money or financial property they are entitled to because of a change of address, a death, or because they inherited something they didn't know about. Unclaimed property can include:

  • Dormant bank accounts
  • Uncashed checks
  • Unclaimed wages
  • Insurance claim payments or benefits
  • Stocks or bonds
  • Safe deposit boxes

I'm looking out for Rosemount, Apple Valley, and Eagan consumers; and I'm committed to reuniting Minnesotans with money that has gone missing
