ST. PAUL – Minnesota state legislators gathered at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 8th for the first day of the 2019 legislative session. The 91st session of the Legislature includes 39 new members of the Minnesota House of Representatives who were sworn into office along with their colleagues, including Rep. Mohamud Noor (DFL-Minneapolis).
Rep. Noor said, "Being sworn in, surrounded by my family, was an unforgettable experience. I am forever grateful to them for helping me get here."
Rep. Noor was joined by his wife Farhiya Del and their four children. Rep. Noor has been preparing for the start of his first term since winning in November. Late in December, Speaker Melissa Hortman appointed him to four committees:
Vice Chair- Jobs and Economic Development Finance Division
Health and Human Services Finance Division
Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division
Rep. Noor remarked, “I am beyond ready to get to work. I’ve been looking forward to getting to know the legislative process and representing my constituents at the Capitol. I am definitely glad that today is over and that we are moving forward, and we’re getting to work.”
Rep. Noor will focus on the issues important to his constituents and the state of Minnesota.
