Neighbors,
On January 8^th I was sworn in to the Minnesota House of Representatives – convening the 91^st session of the Minnesota legislature. Being sworn in, surrounded by my family, was an unforgettable experience. I am forever grateful to them for helping me get here, and to all the people of 60B for putting their trust in me.

Committees
I have been appointed Vice Chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Division, where I will devote my time to investing in Minnesota’s primary asset: its people. I have also been appointed to the following committees: Health and Human Services Finance Division, Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division, and Ways and Means.

Legislation:
The House DFL caucus opened session with the Minnesota Values Agenda, our first 10 bills. Minnesotans want to see one another succeed. By investing in early childhood education, affordable and accessible healthcare, and paid family leave, we can make sure all Minnesotans have a shot at reaching their full potential. With the Minnesota Values Agenda we are laying the groundwork to do that.

I have also signed on to legislation that would make sure everyone’s voices can be heard at the ballot box, by extending the right to vote to people who have served their time in prison.

Upcoming Events:
Mark your calendars! We have an upcoming legislative listening sessions. One is on Saturday, January 26 and 10:30am at the Van Cleve Park. I will be joined by Rep. Diane Loeffler and Senator Kari Dziedzic. With session beginning, I look forward to hearing directly from community members about important issues. It’s an honor to be an advocate for my district at the Capitol, and I welcome any and all ideas as we look to expand opportunities for Minnesotans. More information can be found here.
