Neighbors,
As we gear up for the 2020 legislative session, I encourage you to share what your priorities are for Minnesota.
Last year was a budget year, and our primary goal was to pass a budget that reflected our values. This year we will work to pass a public works package called a bonding bill, advance policy issues such as economic inclusion, solutions to climate change, health care, and possibly additional budget items. We made a lot of progress in some areas last year, but we still have many challenges to address and I would like your thoughts and input prioritizing the issues as we work to create a better future for all Minnesotans.
Senator Kari Dziedzic and I have a short, 8 question survey that we would appreciate you taking the time to complete, available here. It will help us prioritize, make decisions, and shape Minnesota’s future. Let me know if you'd prefer to have a copy of the survey mailed to you.
We also have a couple of town hall listening sessions coming up. Please feel free to stop by and share your thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
First, the Minnesota Student Association and the Black Student Union at the U of M are hosting a conversation on criminal justice reform at Bruininks Hall Room 420A on January 28 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. There is a Facebook event here.
