COVID-19 Help; COVID Mobile app announced

As the pandemic erupts across Minnesota, many of our small business owners, workers and families continue to experience tough times. Tuesday, Gov. Walz and DFL House legislative leaders announced an aid package to assist our neighbors and friends who have been significantly impacted by COVID-19. I am working with my colleagues, our friends across the aisle and Gov. Walz to reach a compromise bill we’ll pass in an upcoming special session, possibly as soon as next week.

COVIDaware MN

On Monday, Governor Walz announced the mobile app COVIDaware MN, a new tool to keep Minnesotans informed as the virus surges across the state. COVIDaware MN is a mobile app that sends an alert if the user is in contact with someone who contracts the virus. The app is free, anonymous and voluntary. Number One in the Nation for Voting

For the third consecutive election, Minnesota led the nation in voter participation. Tuesday, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon announced 79.96 % of eligible Minnesotans participated in the 2020 General Election. You can read more here. Congratulations, Minnesota!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to count our blessings, but this year we also reflect on the tragic events that occurred one year ago when the Cedar High Apartment fire claimed 5 lives and injured many others. I issued this statement earlier today. I wish you all a peaceful holiday.
