Southeast Hennepin Area Groundwater and VaporThis past June, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) hosted a virtual meeting in collaboration with the Southeast Como Improvement Association (SECIA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide updates on the Southeast Hennepin Area Groundwater and Vapor site’s progress towards listing on the EPA’s “National Priorities List” (NPL). Now, the EPA proposed listing the site to the NPL. This important step continues the site’s progress towards listing and offers the public an opportunity to comment on the proposed listing, which ends today. MPCA supports the listing because it will provide additional resources and technical expertise to support long-term clean-up efforts and protect the surrounding community from exposure to site contamination. Jordan, and I sent a letter to the National Priorities List coordinator expressing our concerns.
