St. Paul, MN - Today, following a weekend of increased criminal activity in the Dinkytown area of Marcy-Holmes involving a large number of juveniles, State Representative Mohamud Noor (DFL - Minneapolis), who represents the community in the Minnesota House, released the following statement:
“Having had extensive conversations with officials from the University of Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis, and their respective police departments this weekend, I want to thank all those who have worked in a joint effort to keep Dinkytown orderly and safe. Dinkytown is a vibrant commercial and residential hub for our community, and I strongly condemn anyone that seeks to disrupt the neighborhood by bringing violence to our streets.
“Students, staff, and residents deserve a safe and fun Dinkytown, and there are already efforts underway at the Minnesota Legislature to deliver significant safety and security funding to the University of Minnesota.”
