ST. PAUL, Minn. - Legislators will announce a student-driven and student-led proposal to require Climate Justice Education Curriculum in Minnesota’s schools on Tuesday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. The legislation, HF550, SF666 is being authored by Representative Sydney Jordan (DFL-Minneapolis) and Senator Lindsey Port (DFL-Burnsville), alongside high school leaders with Youth Environmental Activists (YEA!), a program of Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy. The bill would provide a model climate justice curriculum that teaches the causes, effects, and solutions of climate change, connects climate change to the systems of oppression that exist in our current society, and would occur at all grade levels and across core subjects.
