Legislative Update - Happy Pride!

Dear Neighbors, 

Happy Pride! As we celebrate our LGBTQ+ neighbors and history this month, don’t forget that this weekend is full of events around the cities. Twin Cities Pride is officially this Saturday and Sunday, and you can find more information here.

It’s also a great time to renew our commitment to fighting for a more inclusive and accepting Minnesota. At the legislature, it can feel like much of our work is focused on defense, stopping misguided and hate-filled legislation from becoming law. However, we are also pushing for new measures to build a better state. 

Our LGBTQ+ community makes Minnesota a better place to live, but we can and must do more to ban the harmful practice of conversion therapy, protect access to healthcare, make the Equal Rights Act a reality, and ensure all Minnesotans have a seat at the table. 

Saturday’s Town Hall

We’ll also be holding a virtual town hall this weekend! I hope you can join Sen. Dziedzic, Rep. Noor, and myself on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30am to discuss the status of our work at the legislature.

We’ll be hosting this even on Zoom, and you can RSVP for the login information here. There’s a lot to discuss, from the legislation that was passed this year to the work that remains.
