News Release
ST. PAUL — Gov. Walz announced the latest COVID restrictions, which include three phases that stretch into July. The dial turns are much slower than timelines set out by other states.
Rep. John Burkel, R-Badger, issued the following statement regarding today's announcement.
"We are more than a year past the Governor's 'two weeks to flatten the curve', and despite high vaccination rates and low infection rates, the Governor continues to cling to his emergency powers," said Burkel. "We have come a long way in the months since vaccinations started, and it makes no sense to continue to keep decision-making power concentrated to one person. The governor acknowledged today that local governments and businesses know their situations best. It is time to end the emergency powers and trust Minnesotans."
