Neighbors,
We all know how hard our teachers work. For years, I’ve been listening to and talking with teachers about their struggles and triumphs. One of their challenges is the financial weight of supporting their classrooms, spending hundreds of dollars out of their own pocket every year on educational expenses. Listening to educators testify last week in committee reinforced my resolve to ease their burden as I am continuing my efforts to create a Teacher Tax Credit bill. This doesn’t fix all the gaps, but it’s a start toward fairly compensating our teachers. I want educators in our region to know that, as a mom, I appreciate your hard work and dedication to our kids. As your state representative, I will work to lessen your classroom-related financial load. I will share more information with you when the measure is introduced and as it travels through the legislative process.
I’m humbled by the opportunity to serve as your voice. I look forward to crafting more legislation to positively impact our district, along with our work together to close the massive gaps in our education and housing systems.
Thank you for your continued support.
