Dear Neighbors,
The legislature returned to St. Paul on Wednesday following a short two-day break in observance of Passover. This week can best be described as the “calm before the storm” as preparations are being made for large omnibus supplement budget bills to begin to make their way to the House Floor for debate and votes.
Remember, state government was fully funded last year, and any new spending will need to reach a very high bar in my judgement in order to receive my support.
In the meantime, I will be sure to keep you updated on all the latest from St. Paul when things really pick up next week. Buckle up, it’s going to be a sprint to the finish.
Stay tuned for more updates from St. Paul as the legislative session unfolds. In the meantime, please continue to reach out to my office for any questions, comments, or concerns about the bills, ideas, and issues that matter to all of us at the Capitol!
