 Neighbors, As the holidays approach and we all want to gather, this is the perfect time to get your first, or second COVID-19 vaccine and I also want to encourage adults who have been vaccinated to get the booster shot. You can contact your health plan or nearest pharmacy to get your first or second dose, or booster. And don’t forget to get your annual flu shot. Let’s take care of one another by getting a vaccine and make the most of the holidays!  Also, a reminder that eligible Minnesotans 5 and older can also get their first and second COVID-19 vaccines. The state of Minnesota has launched a new webpage to help parents and guardians find a vaccine for children aged 5-11 and answer questions about the vaccine. You can also call the Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 Public Hotline at 1-833-431-2053 Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sat., 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. My Place Last week I attended the presentation of a grant from AT&T to Mankato Youth Place to help continue the non-profit’s academic hour. The grant will help My Place continue to support our area youth by expanding access to technology. I’m grateful for the important work being done by the staff there and want to give a shout-out to AT&T for investing in our community.  Applications Accepted for State Boards, Councils, and Commissions Contribute your expertise by serving on a state board, council, or commission. These groups advise the Governor and the Legislature, overseeing professional licensing, and protecting our environment. Many are accepting applications right now. You can find a list of current openings on the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website. Minnesota Values Project Share your thoughts on how we can make Minnesota a better place to live, work, and play by taking the Minnesota Values Project Survey.
