Neighbors, The 2023 legislative session convened on Tuesday. Thank you for returning me to Saint Paul. In my new role as an assistant majority leader, I will have a front row seat to making sure Greater Minnesota has a voice at the leadership table and to ensure all Minnesotans can thrive. Specifically, I will continue to build on our work from the last two years. House and Senate DFLers aren’t wasting any time. This week, we introduced our session priorities. We know Minnesotans will succeed when given the tools and opportunities. In addition to the assistant leader duties, there are also my committee assignments. I will serve as vice chair of the Human Services Policy Committee. Serving on the Agriculture Finance & Policy Committee will keep me informed about the important agriculture economy of our district and able to provide input on key issues. Another new assignment for me is to serve on the Elections Finance & Policy Committee. Today marks the second anniversary of the violent attack on our U.S. Capitol and attempt to block the certification of the presidential election along with calls at our state capitol for the murder of democrats. Our work on this committee will shore up protections for voters and election workers and make Minnesota a stronger state. I attended a news conference today on our election priorities. |
In summary, I could not accomplish any work at the Capitol without you. Our strong community is engaged and ready to partner with me to help all Minnesotans succeed. Here is how you can stay current on our work at the Capitol and in touch with me: Stay connected with the Legislature The Minnesota House of Representatives Public Information Services offers nonpartisan recaps of high-profile bills, committee hearings, and floor sessions with their Session Daily publication.
