Neighbors, On August 1, a new slate of laws will go into effect. New laws range from making it more difficult to sell stolen catalytic converters, to criminalizing creation of sex-related deep fake activity, to requiring firearms background checks. Other laws will also take effect, including measures related to bicyclists, and worker safety, as well as several items related to the legalization of adult-use cannabis. Brand on the picket line in solidarity with United Steel Workers from Dotson Iron Castings. The workers shared stories about very dangerous working conditions and long work weeks, and about injuries and burns sustained on the job. Employees are demanding a wage to match the hazardous nature of their jobs, safer working conditions, and increased safety training. August 15 deadline to file for your property tax refundThe filing deadline for your 2022 property tax refund is Tuesday, August 15. FarmfestNext week, our robust agricultural community will be highlighted during the three-day Minnesota Farmfest in Redwood Falls.
