ST. PAUL – Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives approved HF 2900, giving at least 667,000 frontline workers up to $1,500 in bonus pay for their role in helping to protect Minnesotans during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a vote of 71-67. Rep. Sandra Feist (DFL – New Brighton) voted for the bill and issued the following statement:
“The Minnesotans who made it possible for us to live our lives during a global pandemic deserve bigger bonus checks. Frontline workers have put their own lives on the line to treat COVID patients, teach our children, and so much more. I hope Republicans can join Democrats in putting workers and their families first.
It was already getting harder for workers and families to make ends meet before the pandemic. At a time where corporate profits are soaring while Minnesotans are seeing their costs go up, now is the time to focus on reducing costs and boosting family budgets.”
