Crystal, Minn. - A small plane crash-landed on a Crystal highway Tuesday morning, resulting in minor injuries to the pilot and the driver of a vehicle that was struck by the plane. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on County Road 81 near West Broadway Avenue.
"I am extremely grateful for the quick and professional response of our first responders," said Representative Cedrick Frazier (DFL-Crystal). "Their actions undoubtedly prevented further injuries and helped to minimize the disruption to traffic. I commend the pilot for his quick thinking and ability to safely land the plane. I extend my gratitude to the emergency responders for their swift and effective response."
According to authorities, the plane was approaching Crystal Airport when it experienced mechanical problems and lost power. The pilot, a 23-year-old man, was able to make an emergency landing on the highway, but the plane struck a car before coming to a stop. The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
