Friday, September 20, 2024

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - On Wednesday, September 18, Representative Cedrick Frazier (DFL – New Hope) was awarded the “Champion of Change Award” by the Minnesota Urban Debate League. The Minnesota Urban Debate League (MNUDL) is a program of Augsburg University which provides resources and programming to support competitive academic debate in Twin Cities high schools and middle schools.

Rep. Frazier released the following statement:

“I am deeply honored to receive the Champion of Change Award from the Minnesota Urban Debate League. It’s a privilege to have been able to support such a vital organization that empowers young people through the art of debate. I’m particularly proud of our efforts to secure funding that has made it possible for more students from historically underrepresented communities to experience the transformative impact of this program. Debate is more than just a competition; it’s a catalyst for personal growth, critical thinking, and effective communication. I am committed to continuing my support of the Urban Debate League and ensuring that these invaluable opportunities are accessible to all students across Minnesota.”
