SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, the Minnesota House DFL elected Rep. Jamie Long (DFL – Minneapolis) as DFL Floor Leader for the 2025-2026 biennium. The caucus also elected Rep. Rep. Athena Hollins (DFL – Saint Paul) as Deputy Floor Leader and Rep. Nathan Coulter (DFL – Bloomington), Rep. Brion Curran (DFL – White Bear Lake), Rep. Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger (DFL – Woodbury), Rep. Heather Keeler (DFL – Moorhead), Rep. Larry Kraft (DFL – St. Louis Park), and Rep. Kristi Pursell (DFL – Northfield) as Assistant Caucus Leaders. The team will join Speaker-designate Melissa Hortman in leading the House DFL on the House floor and in communities across Minnesota.

“I’m proud to work alongside such an engaged, dedicated group of colleagues to help workers and families all over the state live a better life,” said Speaker-designate Hortman. “House DFLers remain committed to delivering solutions to improve the lives of Minnesotans, and we’re prepared to get to work in collaboration with our Republican counterparts to get the job done starting in January.”

“I’m honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to continue serving in a leadership role,” said Rep. Long. “Regardless of the Legislature’s political makeup, Minnesotans are counting on lawmakers to work effectively to help our communities thrive. The House DFL has a track record of delivering on the things Minnesotans value most and I look forward to continue leading in this work.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to once again serve on the leadership team for our House DFL Caucus, which is a dynamic group of lawmakers committed to delivering for communities all across the state,” said Rep. Hollins. “We have a tremendous deal of work ahead of us, and DFLers will continue leading the way to create economic security for families, invest in our students, preserve our environment, and protect our rights and freedoms.”

The 2025 Legislative Session convenes on January 14 at noon.
