St. Paul, MN – Late last week, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced $175,000 in new economic development investments for Inver Grove Heights. SOMIC Packaging, Inc is one of the nine statewide projects receiving funds from the Job Creation Fund and Minnesota Investment Fund,
Representative Mary Frances Clardy (DFL-Inver Grove Heights), applauded the state investments. “I’m grateful our community will benefit from new funding delivered to Inver Grove Heights as we continue building up our local economy,” said Rep. Clardy. “This economic expansion will bring new jobs and more opportunities for our region.”
SOMIC Packaging, Inc., which is currently located in Eagan, will expand to Inver Grove Heights with a new, 48,000-square-foot facility in Inver Grove Heights with the state investments. This new expansion is anticipated to bring 23 new, local jobs to the area.
