St. Paul, Minn.- State Representative Mary Frances Clardy (DFL-Inver Grove Heights) has been appointed to the Military Interstate Children’s Compact State Council by Speaker Designate Melissa Hortman.
“As a member serving on the House Education Committees and the Veterans Affairs Committee, I’m excited to be contributing to this bipartisan Interstate Compact, helping military children adjust and thrive in their new learning environment,” said Rep. Clardy. “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to collaborate on solutions that accomplish this.”
The Compact deals with the educational challenges of military children due to their frequent relocations. It allows for the uniform treatment of military children as they transfer between school districts in member states.
