Rep. Bakeberg Highlights Educator Support, Focuses on Finishing Budget Work
Saint Paul, MN – Representative Ben Bakeberg commented today on the close of the 2025 legislative session at 11:59 p.m. Monday night and the likelihood of an upcoming special session.
“I am proud of the work we have done this session, especially for our educators. We have made important progress that I hope to build on in the next session. But right now, my focus is on finishing the remaining budget and policy bills so we can deliver a responsible state budget that serves all Minnesotans,” Bakeberg said.
He also expressed frustration with the increasing reliance on special sessions to complete the legislature’s work. “Special sessions should not become the norm. Minnesota deserves legislators who show up ready to work from day one through the final day of session. Our constituents expect us to do our jobs on time and with accountability.”
Further details on a special session are still being determined.
