State Rep. Kristi Pursell elected to serve as Assistant DFL Leader

St. Paul, MN – Last week, the Minnesota House DFL Caucus elected State Representative Kristi Pursell (DFL – Northfield) as Assistant Leader in the upcoming 2025-2026 Legislative Biennium. She will assist Speaker-designate Melissa Hortman in leading the DFL caucus on the House floor and in communities across Minnesota.

Representative Kristi Pursell released the following statement:

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to bring my perspective as a Greater Minnesota representative to my party’s leadership team in St. Paul. With a tied House, it will be important to work together as DFLers and also to reach across the aisle and deliver for all communities across Minnesota. Last session I was proud to lead bipartisan efforts like rural broadband expansion, and I’m looking forward to getting back to work this January!”

Rep. Pursell will also serve as DFL vice chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and sit on the Health Committee and the Rules and Legislative Administration Committee. She is serving her second term in the Minnesota House, representing District 58B which includes Northfield, Dundas, New Prague, Lonsdale, and the surrounding townships.
