Dear Neighbors, With the election concluded, representatives at the Minnesota House can start sending regular legislative updates again. It is good to be back in communication with you. Thank you to the residents of District 63A for again trusting me to represent you at the Capitol; it is truly an honor to represent our communities and fight for a better Minnesota alongside you all. We are still waiting to see the exact form the legislature will take next session. As of now, in the house, the DFL caucus is tied with the GOP caucus with 67 members on both sides. This is a rare situation, and the last time the house had a tie was in 1979. We are currently working on negotiating a power-sharing agreement with the GOP, which will give us a better picture of what the legislative process will look like for the next two years. Additionally, I know many people, including myself, are scared of what the next four years will look like at the national level. As your legislator, I commit to using all tools in my power to protect our progressive wins, and to protect vulnerable communities under the next administration. To start planning for the next legislative session, and preparing for changes at the Federal level, please join me for a community conversation at the East Lake Library on Monday, November 25th from 7-8pm. I believe we need each other more than ever, and I look forward to processing, envisioning, and building together.
