SAINT PAUL, Minn. - State Representative Samakab Hussein (DFL-Saint Paul) has been appointed by the Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman to serve on the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force.
Representative Samakab Hussein released the following statement,
“I am honored to have been appointed by the Speaker of the House to be a member of the Capitol Area Community Vitality Task Force. I have been a resident of St. Paul since childhood, and I have always been proud of our city's rich history and vibrant culture.
I look forward to working with my colleagues on the task force to preserve the cultural cornerstones of our community while also finding new and innovative ways to keep St. Paul thriving. We have a unique opportunity to amplify St. Paul as a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
I am committed to making St. Paul a more vibrant and attractive place to live. I am honored to provide recommendations to enhance our economic development, public safety, education, and arts and culture. This means attracting new businesses and expanding existing businesses, investing in our police department and working with community members to address crime and violence, investing in our schools and making sure that all students have the opportunity to succeed, and supporting our arts and cultural institutions.”
