ST. PAUL, MN – State Representatives María Isa Pérez-Vega (DFL-Saint Paul), Samakab Hussein (DFL-Saint Paul), and Senator Sandra Pappas (DFL-Saint Paul) will host a "Capitol Area Community Vitality Kick-Off" event aimed at fostering youth safety, enhancing community vitality and engagement, and strengthening partnerships with the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, Ramsey County, the Minnesota Legislature and the City of Saint Paul.
"The safety and well-being of our young people is paramount," said Rep. Pérez-Vega. "This kick-off event is a crucial step in bringing together all stakeholders – residents, law enforcement, and state resources – to create a safer and more vibrant environment for our youth to thrive. We believe that by working collaboratively, we can build stronger, more resilient communities."
Rep. Hussein emphasized the importance of community involvement. "Community vitality is built on strong relationships and active engagement from every resident," said Rep. Hussein. "This event is an opportunity for us to listen, share ideas, and collectively chart a course towards a more engaged and connected Capitol Area. Our partnership with the Sheriff's Office and community leaders will be instrumental in achieving these shared goals."
